Characters and Mechanics Research
Published · Updated
This page is a draft because several character implementations and edge cases still need in-game verification. It is intentionally kept out of the sitemap, RSS, and search index.
Official Hero Premise
Official promotion highlights unique playable heroes including a queen, a thief, a warrior, a wizard, and a talking boat. The core design idea is that their abilities complement one another and begin to interact as four worlds and their mechanics meet.
Previewed Roles
Preview coverage names Valens as a warrior who can affect blocks and other targets, Piff as a thief associated with the space behind her, and Isador as a wizard who swaps with a moved target. Other previewed roles include a bard, druid, cleric, trader, sailor, and caver.
These descriptions are useful for building a mental model, but they should not be treated as complete ability specifications. The exact relationships between broad official hero archetypes and previewed named roles still need confirmation.
Mechanics To Verify
The bard's charm, the druid's crystallization, and the cleric's adjacent protection all appear in collected preview material. Each depends on positioning and target classification. The trader's mirror travel, sailor's stone paths, and caver's gem-powered beams likewise need current-build testing for edge cases.
For beam powers, the preview describes standing in a beam to gain an ability, including a violet dash, and notes that overlapping beams can grant multiple powers. The rod and torque are described as artifacts that alter emitters or beam direction. Acquisition locations and interaction priority remain pending verification.
Why This Is A Draft
Order of the Sinking Star deliberately combines rules. That makes secondhand summaries fragile: a mechanic described in one preview build may depend on level context, object type, or later changes. This draft will remain out of public indexes until those mechanics can be checked against the release build.
